Can I trust that 4d2.org won't disappear overnight?

We hope so. Our users place a lot of trust in us and we want them to feel safe. We will provide 3 months' notice before discontinuing any service listed on our homepage (we refer to these as our production services), allowing you time to transition to another provider. We also maintain a 3-month emergency fund to allow us to provide notice and wind down operations in the event of financial trouble. That said, we've been here since 2001 and don't intend to go anywhere soon.

We may still immediately discontinue a service due to critical vulnerabilities in an abandoned product, catastrophic system failure, legal demand, natural disaster, etc.

From time to time, we may announce "beta services" informally, through channels like #support:4d2.org on Matrix. Beta services aren't subject to the promise above and could disappear at any time.
