Can you read my email?
Unless you encrypt it using a tool like gpg, yes. Email is an inherently insecure platform. Mail is stored on the server as plain text, and exchanged with other servers in plain text.
All staff are prohibited from accessing users' email by company policy, unless we receive a credible report of illegal content being exchanged. Specifically, Section 7 of our Child Safety Content Policy states:
Notwithstanding the previous sections of this policy, the company will not proactively scan or review content in which users have an expectation of privacy, for example: emails and their attachments, private file uploads, files stored in users’ home directories on servers such that they are only accessible by that user, etc. However, the company will act expeditiously to investigate reports associated with users’ private content, if based on the report the company believes the content may be illegal.
